How Safe is Your Sunscreen?

Follow this link to check for relative toxicities of ingredients in current sunscreens.  Use lower toxicity products whenever practical, just keep in mind that this guide rates according to (lack of) toxicity, not necessarily effectiveness or ease of use.   Many of the lower toxicity sunscreens are in a base of zinc oxide, which is pasty white and difficult to “rub in”.   Note that very few of the less toxic, “recommended” sunscreens are available locally, but can be found easily on Amazon.  Reapply often if in and out of the water or if sweating.  Have fun and be safe!
